Salman ASADULLAH is a Distinguished Engineer at Cisco Systems and Fellow at IPv6 Forum. As a recognized expert within Cisco and the industry, Salman has been working with large-scale IP and multiservice networks and technologies for over 15 years. Salman represents Cisco in industry panel discussions and technical platforms such as APRICOT, IETF, BBF, SCTE, Worldwide IPv6 Technical Forums and Network Operators Group (NOG), CiscoLive, and etc. Salman influences technology directions and decisions with Cisco business units and customers and Internet community at large. Salman is a co-author and contributor of RFCs and drafts produced by IETF. Salman has produced several technical articles, white papers, as well as three Internetworking books, Cisco CCIE Fundamentals: Network Design & Case Study, PDIO of the IPT Networks, and Deploying IPv6 in Broadband Access Networks. Salman is a Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE No.2240) and holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Arizona and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Kansas.

Fabrice CLARI is graduated from the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis with a Master of Science in computing and databases. Prior to his current activities, he worked for “MBDS Valorisation”, an organization dedicated in managing relations between University and industrial partners, as a project manager in the research and development team. He was there mainly responsible for the development of prototypes in the field of communicating cars (he has been for instance involved in the first UMTS car worldwide project with DaimlerChrysler). Then he created Zaltana in 2005, a non-profit organization based in Sophia Antipolis which provides innovation-related services such as technology watch, consulting and training in the field of ICT. In that context, he is a partner of various project, such as Eurolabs (FP6). Moreover, in 2007, he has been involved in the impact assessment study of IPv6 on vertical sectors. Fabrice Clari is also an active visiting lecturer in various degrees of the University of Nice – Sophia Antipolis where he teaches the latest software development technologies as well as networking. His competences include infrastructure topics such as IPv6 and software development, more specifically Internet-related technologies. He does also training to Zaltana’s customers, covering cutting-edge topics such as networking on Apple’s iPhone.

Willem DELRUE Willem Delrue started his career in the ICT sector at a pioneer on the ISP market in Belgium: PING-EUnet. He worked there as Technical Trainer and Supervisor of the ISP helpdesk. Now for more than 10 years he teaches different courses about TCP/IP protocols at the Telindus John Cordier Academy (http://www.jcacademy.be) , part of Belgacom ICT. Telindus John Cordier Academy is the leading ICT training provider in the Benelux, offering the broadest range of ICT courses. At JCA, Willem is Expert Educational Consultant. He is responsible for a part of the course-portfolio and his expertise is in IPv4, IPv6, Routing Protocols, Ethernet Switching, Wireshark and DNS. He developed and teaches many courses about these topics. He is one of the first teaching IPv6 in Belgium, since 2001.

Silvia HAGEN has been working in the networking industry since 1990. Today she is CEO of Sunny Connection AG in Switzerland and works as a professional consultant and analyst for many mid-size and large sized companies. Her expertise is in Protocol and Performance Analysis, IPv6 and Identity Management. She is the author of several successful books including 'IPv6 Essentials' published by O'Reilly. She also presents internationally at technical conferences such as IPv6 Summits, Cisco Conferences, Burton Catalyst, Novell's Brainshare, NetWare Users International Conferences and Universities, She has developed several specialized courses on different topics, including IPv6 and offers them as customized corporate presentations and public courses. She was a founding member of the Swiss IPv6 Task Force and is the president of t newly formed Swiss IPv6 Council.

Dr David HOLDERhas over twenty years experience in the IT industry in senior technical and management posts. He is now a director at Erion Ltd, the world-leading IPv6 training and consultancy company, where he is responsible for Erion's IPv6 training and consultancy services. In his role at Erion, Dr Holder has worked for many well known companies providing advanced IPv6 training and consultancy. These include the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, HP, EMC, Atos Origins, Arbor Networks, France Telecom, Ericsson, Orange, 3Com and Motorola. He has written many training courses, white papers and books for Erion and for third parties such as Microsoft and IBM. In addition to his role at Erion, Dr Holder is active in promoting IPv6 both in the UK and abroad. He is the chairman of the IPv6 Task Force Scotland (where he lives) and is a regular speaker at Global conferences on IPv6. Dr Holder has a PhD in Semiconductor Physics and an Honours degree in Electronic Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering Technology and a Member of the IEEE. He holds a number of industry qualifications.

Franck LE GALL has a PhD in Physics and Telecommunications. After 5 years in technical development (he authored several patents and scientific publications), he spent a further five years in the set-up and management of large international and multi-cultural industrial R&D projects. He is now a senior consultant with the inno group and is involved in the coordination of research projects, program evaluation and policy analysis. In particular, over the last 2 years, he has participated in the study into the ‘effectiveness and efficiency of public R&D in supporting the competitiveness of the Micro/Nanoelectronic industry” and has led the study aimed at “evaluating the impact of IpV6 over vertical markets”.He is coordinating the IPv6 Curricula study.

Florent NOLOT obtained his PhD degree in Computer Sciences in 2002. He is an associate professor at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne, France, where he is in charge of a Master in Systems Administration and Network Security. Florent NOLOT has been involved in undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Sciences for 10 years. He created a Cisco Networking Academy in June 2007 in his university and he is certified Cisco CCDA and CCNP. He developed his first IPv6 courses in 2001 and for 5 years, he has been using a network lab which is connected to IPv6 services of RENATER, the French academic network. Florent NOLOT is doing his research on ad-hoc networks and developping a new security solution for the network, called grid of security. The goal of this new approach is to deploy a distributed security solution where communication between each device can be controlled in a collaborative manner without central decision.

Andrea PAROLA is consultant based in Brussels. He is currently the General Manager of the European e-Skills Association (EeSA), a multi-stakeholder platform based in Brussels. EeSA acts as the reference European platform to develop ICT skills and competences for professionals, practitioners and citizens across all sectors and society to build a more inclusive, competitive and innovative Europe. EeSA promotes the exchange of ideas, awareness raising and good practices in Europe and supports the development of tools and methodologies for the governance of e-skills. Andrea also leads as Managing Director, the company he created in 2009, EU Strategy sprl, which is involved in public affairs and advocacy.

André RICHIER is Principal Administrator at the European Commission in Brussels within the Directorate General Enterprise and Industry (ICT for Competitiveness and Industrial Innovation Unit). He is responsible for policy issues relating to the competitiveness of the ICT industry, industrial innovation and human capital, including the follow up of the European Commission's Communication on "e-Skills for the 21st Century: Fostering Competitiveness, Growth and Jobs". He was the 2002-2003 EU Fellow attached to the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas in Austin. He played a leading role in the preparation of the "eLearning: Designing Tomorrow’s Education" Initiative and Action Plan in 2000 within the Multimedia Unit of the Directorate General Education and Culture. In the 1990s, he was in charge of research projects in the field of multimedia within the European Strategic Programme for Research in Information Technology (ESPRIT) of the Commission. Prior to joining the Commission in 1994, he held sales and marketing positions in the ICT industry. He started his career at IBM in 1985.

Davor SOSTARIC, a graduate of Mathematics, is currently the secretary at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Directorate for Information Society. Prior to his employment in public administration, he has been involved in academic and research areas (computer sciences and networking). Today, he covers various fields regarding information society, internet, information infrastrucutre, WSIS process, internet governance etc. He is the Slovenian accredited represenative in the European Group for Policy Coordination for Academic and Industrial Research Networking (ENPG), ICANN's Governmental Advisory Group (GAC), European Commission's High Level Group on Internet Governance (HLIG). On national IPv6 area, he is an active promotor of IPv6 deployment and member of the national IPv6 platform's Expert Council. Beside his professional activites, his hobbies include music, sailing, mathematics, etnology, wine collecting, skiing, aikido and doing a lot of crazy things like canoeing, diving, caveing and mountaineering. Mohsen SOUISSI has been the head of R&D at AFNIC, the French domain name registry (.fr), since 2007. He had joined AFNIC in 2000 as a network engineer/researcher after receiving a PhD in Computer Networks from the Université of Versailles (host laboratory INRIA-Rocquencourt 1996-2000) and a MSc in Computer Systems & Networks from the Université d'Evry. He actively contributed to different R&D projects, mainly related to IPv6 and DNS(SEC) topics, including for instance the full integration of IPv6 in AFNIC's infrastructure and services as early as 2003. As an active member of the G6 group/association (since 1996), he has participated in IPv6-related training sessions, workshops, seminars and academic classes at both national and international levels.

Martin POTTS is a consultant and project manager with many years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He has managed international projects and chaired strategic committees within the scope of European collaborative research and development activities for the past 15 years. He is a founding member of the Swiss IPv6 Task Force. Apart from traditional telecommunications consultancy, his company Martel specialises in assisting large organisations with the management of European projects. Recent examples are the support of Cisco Systems Europe in the management of 6NET, which built an IPv6 pan-European test network for the research community, and the support of Telefonica in the project EuQoS, which is finding a solution for achieving end-to-end quality of service in the Internet. He has written many articles and papers for international journals (most recently the IEEE Communications Magazine) and sits on the programme committees of several world-class conferences. |
